In the beginning, we watched a TV program on the National Geographic Channel.
You may recall the show, Doomsday Preppers? Anyway, we found the premise interesting.
Having some food put back, a savings account, some skills, and being generally prepared is a good thing.

Why not be a little self sufficient? Does your car have a jack and spare tire, or a can of Fix-A-Flat? How about a Get Home Bag? Bug out Bag? Ask a first responder what they do for work and then ask yourself how likely is a crisis to happen to me and what will I do?
Have you been without power because of a storm? Do your kids freak out when the Internet is slow, let alone off?
We thought a cabin in the woods would be a nice weekend getaway and the quest for land could become a fun and “prepper” adventure!
