We built a wood picnic table using a template from a 1970’s magazine.
We also built a 16′ x 16′ deck made of 2×6 treated board with 4×4 posts rising up 8′ in each corner. The we ran a small header board across the top side of the posts and then strung tarps for shade. Remember, this was in the beginning and we had no building, landing, parking lot or anywhere to get dry or off of the dirt and weeds.
Although the platform was only a temporary build, it really served the purpose of a place to rest, eat meals, and just sit and consider our next plan of action, all out of the direct sun. Working in the hot sun really zaps your energy fast.
